Welcome to the CyberScience Laboratory Website! The CyberScience Laboratory (CSL) provides the Cybersecurity community with the necessary tools and training to combat Electronic Crime and build capacity at the state and local levels nationwide.

Mission

In March of 2000 the National Institute of Justice's Office of Science and Technology established the CyberScience Laboratory. The mission of the CyberScience Lab is to:

  1. Implement Cybersecurity Training seminars / workshops / expos nationwide in order to build capacity at the State and Local law enforcement levels.
  2. Develop a national government, industry and academic collaboration to address Cybersecurity technical issues.
  3. Share forensic tool knowledge base from government and industry with National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Centers (NLECTCs) and State and Local law enforcement agencies (LEAs) nationwide.
  4. Heighten Cybersecurity awareness nationwide.
  5. Facilitate Cybersecurity and technology assistance.

A National Resource

As a National Resource Center designated by the NIJ, the CSL has a national charter to assist the Cybersecurity community. Through the CSL's delivery system and by being co-located with the NLECTC-Northeast Region and the Air Force Research Laboratory/Information Directorate (AFRL/IF) in Rome, New York, the CSL has been and will continue to be on the forefront of Cybersecurity.
